Student Travel Grants

ACM SIGACT is pleased to provide funds to support student registration, travel, and accommodation for STOC 2016.

These travel awards are for students who are short on funds and are intended to help cover their registration, travel, and accommodation expenses. An advisor may support the applications of at most two students for a travel award.

To apply, you will need to fill out the following form by May 12, 2016 in which you provide basic information about yourself, an estimate of your expenses, and a brief statement:

In addition, you will need to have your advisor send a letter of support to stoctravel@gmail.com by May 12, 2016. Your advisor's letter should also describe the availability of other travel funds. This letter should be sent with subject line "support letter for [your name]". This is very important. Your application is not complete without this letter.

Late applications (after May 12, 2016) will not be accepted. You will be notified about your status by May 16 which is prior to the STOC early registration deadline and the May 21 hotel cut-off date.

Notes: Receipts will be required for all travel awards, and reimbursements will be made after the conference. Food or visa expenses will not be reimbursed. It is expected that total reimbursement will be limited to a maximum of registration + $500 for those from North America and a maximum of registration + $750 for those from overseas.
